Richard Birdsall wrote this piece at the age of 18 and won first place in the Garritan orchestration competition.

This was a world-wide contest, and Richard's winning composition was played by the Moravian Philharmonic under the direction of Petr Pololanik. Garritan Libraries Corp. develops sample libraries of real musical instruments. I modified Richard's midi file so that it would play in perfect sync with the live orchestra video. What you see is real, what you hear is my midi mockup using Garritan Personal Orchestra.GPO is a complete collection of sampled orchestral instruments and is playable on Windows and Mac computers.
