Midi Music

All of the instrumental sounds used in these songs on this "MIDI MUSIC" page are from Garritan Sample Libraries exclusively. Each note and phrase was picked out by ear and played on a midi keyboard with the exception of Rhapsody in Blue and Chopin's Scherzo, which were both created from a standard quantized midi file.

I use Digital Performer by MOTU for all of my audio recording, mixing and midi sequencing.

NOTE: Clicking on a song title will open a new window/tab

Traumere Opus 15 No.7 by Robert Schumann

Rhapsody in Blue  by George Gershwin

Scherzo No. 2 Opus 31 by Frederic Chopin. I imported a standard quantized midi file into Digital Performer, and created a demo for Garritan.com that would closely simulate Yundi Li's performance. The Garritan Steinway Concert Grand Piano was used for this demo. Digital Performer's conductor track allowed me to insert hundreds of tempo changes to accomodate Yundi's rubato and feel. The velocity of each and every note was altered to imitate Yundi's dynamic expression as closely as possible. Enjoy!
